A new community conversation series opens this week.

Opening Minds is a series of community conversations sponsored by the Council of Canadians, North Shore Chapter. It will focus on topics of matter to residents of the North Shore, such as forestry, free trade and more.

The first in the series – Listening to Each Other: An art of sane conversation – will begin at 7 p.m. March 29 at the Caper Café.

Resource person Steve Gleich will present a view and model of conservation, giving participants a chance to try out a suggested approach to conversation. Gleich, who lives in The Falls with his wife, Lilly, is retired after spending more than 30 years in psychology and mental health. He’s a longtime practitioner and teacher of meditation and a senior teacher with the Dorje Denma Ling retreat centre.

Space is limited at the first conversation gathering, so arrive early. Coffee, tea and snacks will be available.
