For the past 12 years, the River John Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary has been hosting a ladies night out with a dinner theatre.

It’s been one of the successes the auxiliary has seen in its 30 years of fundraising in support of the fire department.

River John is a small community with big talent. The cast and crew are rehearsing for the Annual Dinner Theatre in support of the River John Fire Department. The auxiliary is in full prep mode for this annual fundraiser to be held for two nights in at the River John Fire Hall – May 15 and 18.

This type of event takes huge commitment and dedication from not only auxiliary members, and local talent, the community gets involved as well; all to raise much needed funds to keep the community safe.  Local and surrounding area businesses donate prizes for draws throughout the night. While this is a huge commitment, the success of the dinner theatres have encouraged the auxiliary to come back to entertain for another year.

Tickets for the dinner theatre – When It’s Hot, It All Comes Off – are $25 per person and can be purchased by calling Margaret MacLean at 902-351-2273.

There will be numerous prizes, a 50/50 draw, and cash bar for those aged 19 and over.

The menu consists of a traditional lobster salad plate or ham and salad plate if one prefers, and dessert, along with tea and coffee. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the dinner theatre beginning at 7 p.m.
