Unique differences will be celebrated in Tatamagouche in June.

The annual Let Me Be Me rally will begin at 12:45 p.m. on June 9 with students from Tatamagouche Elementary and North Colchester High schools participating. Special guests this year will be from Rabinal, Guatemala, who will be marching and participating too.

The event will start at the community field opposite the high school, and all in the community are welcome to participate.

Students will meet at 12:20 p.m., with the walk beginning at 12:45 p.m., exiting the field through the library parking lot and continuing on Main Street to the Creamery Square. The RCMP will lead the procession. Once at the Creamery Square, students will entertain their peers with song, dance, drumming and recitals celebrating difference, culture, and diversity.

The rally is expected to finish by 2 p.m., with students returning to their schools in time for bus dismissal.

If there is inclement weather, the walk will be cancelled and the rally will go ahead as planned at the North Colchester High School at 1 p.m.

Please plan to walk with students and teachers and attend this important community event.
