TATAMAGOUCHE – Emergency department closures continue on the North Shore, although aren’t as often over the next week.

The closures at both the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital and North Cumberland Memorial Hospital collaborative emergency centres are due to lack of physician coverage.

In Tatamagouche, the centre will be closed:

  • Aug. 11, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Aug. 15, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Aug. 16, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

In Pugwash, only one closure has been announced so far:

  • Aug. 11, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The departments are OPEN during overnight hours (8 p.m.-8 a.m.) with coverage provided by the paramedic/registered nurse/oversight physician team.

Those experiencing a medical emergency should always call 911. General health concerns can also be directed to HealthLink 811 where advice and information are available around the clock by simply dialing 811. The Mental Health Crisis Line operates 24/7 at 1-888-429-8167.
